Inspiration
by Derri-Ann Palmer

Oh Lord, be it that I wake each day with purpose.
Knowing that everything will be all right even if it isn't.
Knowing that the war is won even if there is a daily battle to fight.
Knowing that you are with me always even if I cannot see you, feel you...

Lord be it that I wake each morning with You
With Your purpose
          Your peace
          Your victory
          Your presence
Knowing that my hope in You is new every morning
May I remember Your hope especially on days when I'm not inspired
May i remember that I know that You never change
I have Your purpose, peace, victory and presence - to keep
I have Your purpose, peace, victory and presence - to love
I have Your purpose, peace, victory and presence - to share
That all may wake each day with you.

Lord be it so.

We often think of inspiration as defined in #1 above; a sudden brilliant creative idea, divine influence, that mental stimulation, that person or thing that stimulates you. It is all that and more but most importantly id like to think of it as inhalation, the act of breathing. Something we take for granted. Something so common that on really bad days, we may curse it and wish we weren't born.

On days when we feel worthless and hopeless and crave inspiration, On days when as Christian we may seek that divine influence which we feel has eluded us - God where are You? What are You doing? Why are You not acting through me? I want You know!

On those days we need to breath, inhale. We need to take note that based on what we know of God, we know that God is in the process of inspiration. God is in every breath we take and we have the responsibility of being vehicles of the hope found in God.
